Cover: Northstar is flying in the background with Aurora and Snowbird.

  • We discover he was one of the original six members.
  • He arrives at LaValle, Quebec to visit his sister at a Catholic School for Girls. The girls go crazy over him because he's a hot skiing celebrity. He looks uber-gay in his ultra-fitted 80s jacket, pants, and pink shirt. He argues with his twin sister to convince her to come back home and accept her self as a mutant (interesting parallels to his own situation). She tells him he cheated his way to becoming a skiing champion. She passes out, and it is revealed that he hates his part in Alpha Flight, but that he'll accept it because he knows his sister needs it.
  • In his next scene, Aurora is back and happy again, but we discover that Jeanne-Marie has some sort of multiple personality disorder, and Northstar fears she may be "quite mad."
  • After Sasquatch gets blown away by Tundra, Northstar doesn't even consider trying to catch him or check on him, rather saying, "if he survives, he survives." The twins then save the day by swirling around Tundra, causing the monster to erode with the help of Shaman and Marrina. Then they blind it with their bright light power.
  • Later, Hudson seems shocked that Jean-Paul wants to rejoin Alpha Flight. Jean-Paul then gets excited when Walter and Judd get in a brawl.

    Quote:

Sister Anne: Mam'selle Beaubier! You have been told the rules concerning men in your quarters!
Jeanne-Marie: S-sister Anne… but this is not a man - I mean, of course he's a man, but he is also my brother.

  • The team is training, and we find out that Northstar and Aurora's hyper-speed can negate Vindicator's defense fields. Soon after, they part the waters with their hyper-speed.

    Quote:

Sasquatch: Watch your mouth, Northstar. I may get a sudden craving for frog's legs.

  • He is trapped in an alien ship with his sister, and they are in total darkness, so they use their light powers. The walls attack, and he is knocked out. When he awakens, he is concerned about Aurora, but is soon distracted by Marrina's scream.

    Quote:

Aurora: Jean-Paul, this darkness frightens me. It's so… total.
Northstar: It disturbs me also, sister. But for the luminescence of our costumes we would not even be able to see each other…

  • Northstar can't find Aurora. Guardian finds him and says there are more pressing matters. Together, they do a s**tload of damage to the complex, and then the entire team meets up. He realizes Aurora has reverted to Jeanne-Marie, and she is freaking out. Invisible Girl takes everyone to safety in an invisibubble.

    Quote:

Northstar: Fact facts, Jean-Paul, you are very very lost…

Cover: Northstar is looking at Aurora in astonishment as she stands over a thug who she has just pummeled.

  • Jean-Paul is sitting in the waiting room as Jeanne-Marie walks out of an office with her psychiatrist. The doctor says there is nothing wrong with her. Instead of divulging information about their secret identities, Jean-Paul decides to leave it alone for now. We learn that only recently have the twins discovered one another, about one year ago. She was a free spirit like him, but then she drastically changed and ended up in a Catholic school as a teacher.
  • The twins then head out for lunch at a restaurant of an old friend of Jean-Paul's, Raymonde Belmonde. A thug then steals Jeanne-Marie's purse, and she immediately transforms into Aurora and chases after him, beating him to a pulp. They discover the thug works for Ernest St. Ives, or Deadly Ernest, and that his bail has already been posted.
  • Raymonde meets them in the street after hearing the news. He takes them to his restaurant and tells them of his recent troubles with the restaurant. They meet his daughter, Danielle. It turns out the thug attacked them because he overheard them talking about Belmonde.
  • Two of Ernest's men then enter the restaurant and kidnap Raymonde and Aurora. Ernest then kills Raymonde with but a touch of his hand. Northstar allows them to drive off with his sister out of fear they will kill her as well if he makes a move. We learn then learn the relationship between Jean-Paul and Raymonde. He then vows to kill Ernest St. Ives.

    Quote:

Raymonde: Then you have not really told your sister all about me after all, Jean-Paul? I thought that would have been odd.

Cover: Northstar looks shocked as he sees sees Aurora with what is presumed to be Deadly Ernest. The word 'BETRAYAL!' is printed in large font.

  • Jean-Paul is flying through the city, and the narrator tells us that 'he has cried long and hard this day' after what happened to Raymonde and Aurora. But 'he will be helpless no longer.'
  • He flies to Ernest's mansion with revenge in mind. He finds Aurora in Ernest's office, and it appears she is in cahoots with him. Northstar then gets knocked out from behind. Aurora is upset and demands he be taken good care of.
  • When he comes to, there is a sword at his throat… it's Nemesis! They decide to work together to take out Ernest. Northstar thinks it is Danielle, Raymonde's daughter, and he tries to stop her before she kills him, but is too late; she slices him in pieces. He rips off her mask to reveal her lifeless eyes and realizes it's not Danielle. She then knocks him out and gets away.
  • They then return to the restaurant, and Aurora takes out Danielle, who she has realized was in cahoots with Ernest all along. Northstar then says he thought his sister had slept with Ernest in order to be safe, and she freaks out, flies away, and says he'll never see her again.

    Quote:

Northstar: Well, frankly, dear sister, given the strange tastes of your Aurora personae, I had assumed you… romanced yourself to safety.

  • In a tale of their past, Jeanne-Marie is shown a picture of her twin brother for the first time by Vindicator. He informs her it is her brother. We discover their parents were killed, and Jean-Paul was taken in by their mother's cousins, the Martins. They couldn't afford to adopt her as well, so she was raised at Madam DuPont's school. Then Mr. Martin was posted to northern Quebec with the RCMP, and so they lost touch with her. Then the Martins were killed when the twins were six, and he was taken in by a foster family and grew up unaware of his history. Vindicator arranged for the twins to meet right away.
  • Jean-Paul meets Gary Cody and forces him to converse in French. They end up at Department H. James Hudson tells Jean-Paul he knows about his cheating in skiing to become the champion. He then invites him to join Alpha Flight, and then introduces him to his sister for the first time! He is suspicious at first but then shakes hands with his sister, only to generate an intensely bright light.

    Quote:

James MacDonald Hudson: You had it all - money, fame, women… although the women didn't seem to have interested you overmuch…

  • They arrive at the same time as Aurora and Walter. Northstar immediately tries to apologize to Aurora for being harsh with her a few issues ago, but she wants none of it and calls for Walter to get him away from her. Northstar is disgusted that she went back to Walter and pushes him. Walt then transforms into Sasquatch and loses his temper. He is about to pummel him, but Puck interrupts with a dropkick to Sasquatch. Shaman casts a spell to wrap Sasquatch in tree roots, and Northstar takes advantage by hyper-punching him. Snowbird then attacks him in owl form, but is interrupted when Shaman freezes them both in mid-air. He then transports the entire team to New York City, where Guardian is battling Omega Flight.

He hands the phone to Northstar, who is in the pool. He says he's not interested and hangs up on her.

    Quote:

Heather: Why, that toffee-nosed little -- ! He hung up on me!
Judd: Well… no great loss, eh? As long as we've got his sister with us, we don't need "his royal highness!"

  • Northstar shows up to the Eye of the World, where the rest of Alpha Flight is. He suspects Aurora has called him there, saying it was just a matter of time before she came to her senses. • They enter the strange dimension where Walter's soul is being kept, and Northstar scouts the area with Snowbird and Aurora.

  • The opening picture is of Northstar being inquisitioned by his teammates about his involvements as a sepratiste terrorist. He responds sharply and aggressively, pointing out that all of them have secrets as well. He calls Bochs an outsider. Shamans says Bochs is less of an outsider than Northstar. Heather tells him he has a big ego. He says Heather has the big ego for declaring herself leader of Alpha Flight.

    Quote:

Northstar: And who is guilty of flaunting their ego here, Heather Hudson? I have done things of which I am no longer proud, it is true. But I did them because I once believed in something. Something I once thought worth fighting for… even worth dying for. Is that an egotistical act? Then what of you, who have presumed to take the leadership of this group by unilateral declaration!

    #26

    Quote:

Northstar: Here is this creature… a self-professed alien being… who has appeared from nowhere, attacked us without provocation… for all we know he is some previously unseen member of Omega Flight, and now Shaman stands discussing power with him as if he were talking of the weather!!

They fly on to attack the Hulk. Northstar manages to actually hurt the Hulk with light-speed punches. After the rest of the team is knocked out, the twins go in for the attack. They join hands, and it negates their powers! Then Hulk takes them down.
  • When Department H makes their new offer, Northstar is cynical.

    Quote:

Northstar: Surely you jest, Heather Hudson! If the loss of our three mightiest members wasn't enough to convince you of the absurdity of our remaining a team, then the ease with which the Hulk plowed through those that remained should have been sufficient!

    Quote:

Box: Northstar, did anyone ever tell you you're a callous little creep?
Northstar: I find the dishonesty with which you have all treated Heather's delusions to be the greater cruelty, Box! She has done nothing but endanger herself and us, since out of pity, we made her leader of Alpha Flight!

  • Aurora gets pissed at her twin brother for his cruel words for Heather. She urges him to learn to love others, besides her and himself.

    Quote:

Aurora: Jean-Paul! Because you are my brother I have made allowances for your callousness! No longer! Your cruelty towards Heather shows me that you are incapable of loving anyone but yourself!
