    There has been plenty of talk on this site lately (actually, for the last few years) that revolves around various discussions about what reason can we come up with for having an Alpha Flight team again, a reason that would be good enough to (a) cause Marvel to believe it would sell as a series, and (b) make sense in that Marvel seems to feel that previous AFs have lost readers due to something new being needed.

    Many people here have suggested ideas. Some new ideas, some not-so-new.

    Many of us believed that John Byrne had it right, or did it best, when it comes to AF. So, many times suggestions came up in regards to how JB wrote AF in the beginning, how they were a team made up of individuals who did not always get along, and showing that individual stories could be told in a team book.

    We all know that Alpha Flight has been given a bad rap the last several years. Regardless of whether you believe that Marvel is intentionally trying to wipe them all out, it cannot be denied that Canada's most notable super-humans have had it rough. They are treated as a joke, even by former members of the team (Ex, Northstar: "That's the most pathetic thing I've ever heard, and I was with Alpha Flight"). Whether it's having the entire active roster wiped out by the Collective, being stamped out during Necrosha, the falling apart of Omega Flight shortly after its formation (In Mighty Avengers. I mean, how many people are even on that team now that Pointer and Walker are gone? Three, four if you count Agent Brown?), or just fading into the realm of neglect and obscurity.

    Something I've noticed lately is the habit certain P.C. types have of trying to prove that they're picked on and victimised by showing how comic book members of whatever group they're P.C.ing this week are treated; every slight, every nastiness that happens to a member of that group becomes cause for a cry of 'bigotry!'

    One particular list had members of their groups with horrible fates ranging from the worst -- dying several times within a few months, being generally beaten up and abused -- to the just plain bad --
