• Captain Marvel #4 Preview

Marvel have released a five page preview of next week's Captain Marvel #4 - the monthly title featuring Alpha Flight members Aurora, Puck and Sasquatch in space.
While the preview doesn't actually include them, it's a near certain bet they'll show up later, so we're still supporting the title:-

    CAPTAIN MARVEL #4
MICHELE FAZEKAS, TARA BUTTERS (W) KRIS ANKA & FELIPE SMITH(A) MATTHEW WILSON (C) JOE CARAMAGNA (L)
    COVER BY KRIS ANKA

CIVIL WAR VARIANT COVER BY PASCAL CAMPION
As the situation with the Eridani delegates escalates, Captain Marvel and her crew struggle to make sense of what happened on the mysterious alien craft.
But between her powers failing and Wendy's character being called into question, Carol's command of Alpha Flight is slowly slipping from her grasp.

Here's to hoping they show up, and make a good showing of it.

Anka's been posting lots of Puck panels on Twitter so there's definitely Alphans still involved in #4-5.

20ish? Most of the ones above, to be fair.
They're on most pages after the ones previewed.

Read it. starting to think it's brand or one of original alpha flight members as the traitor. Has to be someone we have already seen or it loses its oompf

Won't be Brand, as the traitor knocked her out in a previous issue.
I just hope it's not Aurora again.

Could still be Brand; we've seen that kind of plot before (either she pretended to get knocked out or her partner knocked her out to allay suspicion; or she split into two or something and knocked herself out without knowing it), but that does make it look less likely.

Aurora wouldn't need an weapon to knock somebody out, 20 punches in a second would do pretty well.

Frankly, I'd like to see Aurora do a bit more than stand around...she can fly and move at super speed. Did they forget all of that?

Maybe you have seen her do a bit more than stand around.

Or right someone did use a weapon on Brand. I thought they found her KO'ed.

Maybe it will be Walter in human form. Split personalities and the meditation we saw him do early is to control them. Also would explain how a weakened Marvel took him out from behind as it was part of his plan and why he would use a weapon on brand as walter in his human form has no powers.....I hope it's not true. Not Puck at least.

Hopefully our favourite characters actually get to do something during the Civil War crossover issues, as this story arc is flat and dragging on too long. I was initially excited about the potential for this book, but move the story along already. The first issue showed potential for character development, but I haven't really seen any since, except for Aurora seemingly liking linguistics this issue, or was she just plotting her next behind the scenes move. At this point any random alien Marvel characters could be substituted in for Aurora, Puck or Sasquatch and the story would not have to be change in the slightest. That's not what I was hoping for.

I was hoping that Marvel would see this as an opportunity to expand the visibility of Alpha Flight within the universe and eventually lead into a new series. At this point, they're barely supporting cast members, just slightly ahead of the minor cameos made by Shaman and Talisman in Doctor Strange.

      Disappointed.

That's kind of the style of the time - decompressed storytelling.

As far as I can tell, it's more popular among creators than readers.

That's exactly what they are though.
      It's not their book.

Maybe it's a skrull posing as a member. we know they attacked the alpha flight hospital already and they hate the kree. Wishful thinking

overall the story is dragging and will be happy when it wraps up next issue.

Yeah, 3-4 have been a bit padded.
