MILLAR TALKS ABOUT THE DEATH OF NORTHSTAR
Discuss this in the Alpha Waves Forum.

Recently Mark Millar discussed The Death of Northstar with AlphaFlight.net

"This was one of the main reasons I picked him over several of the other characters I considered. They obviously have a shared history in Alpha Flight and a shared heritage to some extent. I have a scene in issue 27..."

NORTHSTAR DIES AT THE CLAWS OF WOLVERINE
Discuss this in the Alpha Waves Forum.

As soon as the preview copies of Wolverine #25 were out, the buzz began about who Mark Mill killed off. In this issue, due out on February 16th, none other than for Alpha Flight member Northstar is killed by Wolverine, under the control of HYDRA.

Mark Miller himself has confirmed the rumor at IMAGE COMICS COMMUNITY
"Ah, I said he was a BIG DEAL in the 90s and Northstar got more face-time in the international press than Wolvie and the others all added together. Northstar coming out was HUGE. It made every paper in Britain in a full-page pic. He was the first openly gay character at Marvel and possibly in superhero comics.

For these reasons, I assumed Marvel would say no way when I suggested killing him. Also, in these PC times, killing off the one well-known gay character might be frowned upon. But they were cool about it.
.
.
.
.
...Jubilee has never registered for me. I just wasn't very interested in her as a character. It's interesting to see everyone hoping their least fave X-Man would get bumped. Gambit would have been funny, but there are plans for Gambit. Northstar just seems kind of sad because he was nice.
.
.
.
Wolvie on the brink of raping Rachel, slicing up a couple of X-Men and murdering Northstar (not the mention all the SHIELD guys he offed this issue) has him in a mess as it is. The desired effect is there and that's what Agent of SHIELD is all about; his kick-ass come-back and retribution."

ALPHA FLIGHT ARTIST CLAYTON HENRY SPEAKS ON CANCELLATION
Discuss this in the Alpha Waves Forum.

Alpha Flight Volume 3 artist Clayton Henry has spoken on the Alpha Waves forum regarding Alpha Flight's cancellation.

"There was no mention of the original AF going off into space. I think Scott was hoping that they would get their own Uncanny title. By issue 6 I didn't like where the book was headed (in terms of character development and writing), which was a shame because Scott had so much faith in me that I wanted this book to work. I told Marvel I wanted to be taken off the book at the end of #12"

ALPHA FLIGHT CHARACTERS IN WEAPON X
Discuss this in the Alpha Waves Forum.

In early 2004, Frank Tieri will be putting out a Weapon X mini series entitled "Dats of Future NOW". Recently on his forum Tieri was asked:

"I have a couple of questions about former Alpha Flight characters. Will Madison Jeffries(and the Director) return? Will Madison get his marbles back(LOL)? Will Wild Child be back too?"

To which Teiri responded:

"The Director, Jeffries and Wildchild will all be back-- not to mention a few other Alpha-centric characters.

As for Jeffries getting his marbles back... why? You think there's something wrong with blindly building giant robots to wipe out your own race?"
