Batman: Detective Comics #825, VENTilation (spoilers)
Sorry, but I'm posting a rant.
I hate my intelligence being insulted. My IQ is in the 130s (genius is 140), at least last time I tested.
You can imagine I take some pride in that, and hate being treated like I'm stupid. Even though I spend a lot of time trying to get people to think I'm a lot dumber than I am.
So, I hate things like this. The literary equivalent of an Akiva Goldsman film--exciting, fun, but in the end more insulting than entertaining. (And the last novel I described that way now is an AG film.)
This one included: Batman pours water on somebody made out of Phosphorous. Nothing happens.
Where's the ka-boom? There was supposed to be an Earth-shattering ka-boom!
Alfred talks stilted and alliterate.
He, an experienced cook, replaces baking soda (rising agent) with salt (flavouring agent) and calls himself clever.
etc...
Sorry, just had to rant. Grrr.
